Welcome to the Green Turtle Gardens! An eco-friendly and unique home situated in the heart of the charming island of Sint Eustatius. Nestled on over an acre of land on the western slope of dormant volcano The Quill, this beautifully landscaped property offers breathtaking views of St. Maarten, St. Barts, and both the Caribbean and Atlantic oceans. At Green Turtle Gardens you are conveniently close to everything on this small island yet feel worlds away in your own secluded paradise.

Comfort & Sustainability

Green Turtle Gardens is a sustainable haven built from repurposed shipping containers and other materials, featuring large decks that embrace the refreshing island breeze and scenic vistas. This home is equipped with modern conveniences like electricity, water, internet, and 3 air-conditioned bedrooms, while also embracing eco-friendly practices such as rainwater harvesting, greywater recycling for the garden, and passive ventilation.

Ground floor

On the lower level, you’ll find a cozy bedroom housed in a 20-foot container, with an en-suite bathroom with shower. There’s a large dining table on the covered patio with ceiling fans and overhead lighting.  Adjacent is a well-equipped kitchen and pantry within another 20-foot container. A separate utility room on the same level features a refrigerator, washing machine, and ample storage.

First floor

Upstairs, the master bedroom offers flexible bedding (king or two twins) and a stunning ocean view, along with a half bathroom. There’s also a smaller bedroom with a twin bed and its own half bathroom, as well as an outdoor shower.

The upper level includes a spacious living room offering plenty comfortable seating, ceiling and pedestal fans, large windows for optimal air circulation, and beautiful panoramic views. The room is equipped with a coffee/snack counter, storage and provides access to an additional bathroom. Wireless internet service is available and there’s a smart television present. For added convenience, the living room’s sectional sofa converts into a queen bed.

Roof deck

Accessible from the first floor via stairs, the covered roof deck offers a truly spectacular 360-degree view of the island. Hop in your hammock and admire the impressive sleeping Quill volcano, Boven National Park, lower town, the airport runway, surrounding seas, and neighboring islands. The perfect spot for sunset gatherings: If you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the elusive “Green Flash”!

Accessibility

The entrance to the property is on an unpaved but well-maintained road, only a few meters down from the nearest paved road. The plot is completely and securely fenced in and surrounded by trees to ensure your privacy.  There’s plenty of parking space available on both levels of the house, with upper-level rooms accessible via a concrete ramp.
